Banner Health Allergy/Immunology Physician in Tucson, AZ in Tucson, Arizona
The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine and Department of Medicine at the University of Arizona and Banner University Medical Group (BUMG) seeks a qualified Allergist/Immunologist to join our faculty in support of our three missions: research, education, and patient care.
The successful candidate will join a busy, growing practice of Allergy/Immunology clinicians to provide outstanding subspecialty care to adult patients through inpatient consultations, outpatient full-service Allergy/Immunology clinics and with the support of multidisciplinary disease-focused teams. Strong clinical skills in diagnosis and treating allergic and immunologic disorders are required. Opportunities for leadership and program development are available. Clinicians are employed by BUMG and affiliated with the University of Arizona.
Research and collaborative opportunities are available in the Asthma and Airway Disease Research Center (formerly the Arizona Respiratory Center), and through the Bio5 Institute of the University of Arizona. Our center is internationally recognized for airway/asthma research, immunology, and is a Food Allergy Research and Education network site.
Minimum Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree
Arizona medical license obtained by start date
Completion of an ACGME accredited training program
Board certified in Internal Medicine and/or Pediatrics
Board certified or Board eligible in Allergy/Immunology
Team player with a desire to practice and engage in an academic setting
Dedication to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
Excellent communication skills with a focus on evidence-based medicine
Work Schedule
Full Time (8 clinic sessions and 2 administrative sessions per week)
Shared call (approximately 12 weeks per year)
Duties and Responsibilities
Attend in Adult Allergy Clinics at the Banner University Medicine-North Campus
Examine patients; utilize skin prick/intradermal/patch tests, blood tests, and other relevantprocedures as diagnostic aids
Diagnose and treat diseases and conditions with allergic or immunologic causes
Participate in Allergy/Immunology inpatient consult service
Refer patients to ancillary and consultant services when indicated
Develop and contribute to ongoing Quality Improvement/Patient Safety/Disparities ReductionProjects
Potential for pediatric clinic time and research for highly qualified/interested candidate
