Our Social Work Department is devoted to meeting the hospital's mission of providing progressive treatment programs focused on supporting individuals in pursuit of recovery and community living. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

We are looking for an experienced, highly energetic, and compassionate Forensic Social Worker 1 who will assist our consumers who are involved in the legal system. These consumers may have serious and persistent mental illnesses and require individualized assessment and treatment. Part of your duties in this position will be to complete competency evaluations, aid in sentencing evaluations and group programming, and support consumers with legal system endeavors. Work in our unit is fast-paced and requires constant communication with various groups including community providers, court systems, public defenders, judges, and consumer families. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide input into patient progress, needs, and the development of patient treatment goals. As par the course for this industry, documentation and completing assessments will be a persistent part of this position, as will goal planning, crisis management, and participation in committees.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. You may be required to work overtime as operationally necessary. This position may require travel as operationally necessary. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's or master's degree in social work or social welfare.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require medical examination and drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
