Sierra Nevada Corporation Functional Architect Principal Business Systems Analyst (Hybrid & Remote Eligible) in Lone Tree, Colorado

SNC is seeking a Functional Architect expert in the delivery of modern technology solutions. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, business analysts and data analysts to implement data and technology initiatives and deliver solutions. Ideal candidates can balance an understanding of the underlying business drivers and technology solution expertise with stakeholder management, team leadership and communication.

As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

This role is open to a hybrid schedule or 100% remote work in most states

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the business to understand EDW use cases, expectations and timelines.

  • Translate business and functional requirements to create developer ready user stories.

  • Present user stories to development team during refinement.

  • Fill in for Solution Owner as needed.

  • Gather understanding and requirements by utilizing a user centric approach by conducting interviews and workshops with business stakeholders and users.

  • Conduct quality assurance checks throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Facilitate user acceptance testing including the creation of user acceptance test cases and conducting sessions with business users.

  • Document, formulate, communicate/present data usage as-is and to-be processes.

  • Communicate technical concepts to business users one-on-one and in group settings.

  • Create presentations and proof of concepts to showcase capabilities around new EDW solutions.

  • Document/communicate Root Cause Analysis on system issues.

  • Team with the Data Governance lead to build/maintain MDM solutions.

  • Work with the business to develop Return on Investment (ROI) for use cases.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 14 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Self starter mentality; be able to run with EDW ideas/solutions with little direction SQL Skills:

  • Understanding of basic database components (Server, Schema, Tables, Attribute, Data Types)

  • Ability to perform basic joins (inner, cross and left join)

  • Ability to understand table primary and foreign key relationships

  • Understanding of grants and groups with regards to data access Data Warehouse Knowledge/Skills:

  • General understanding or ability to learn concepts of EDW (raw, Point in Time and Certified data layers)

  • Understanding of access concepts (groups) Excel Skills:

  • Ability to load data from a database into Excel

  • Ability to blend data from multiple sources into a single dataset

Preferred:

  • Experience with agile tools such as Rally, Azure DevOps, Jira, Github

  • Experience testing technical solutions

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure)

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $138,634.92 - $190,623.01. SNC considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
