About the team

Join our new Pediatric Transport Team, comprised of dedicated Registered Nurses, Advanced Practice Providers, and Respiratory Therapists. Together we will play a crucial role in providing specialized pre-hospital (interfacility) care to ensure the safe ground transfer of pediatric patients across Michigan to Helen Devos Children’s Hospital. As a member of the team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transfer of pediatric patients, and hybrid roles that support the pediatric and cardiac intensive care unit. Additionally, there will be opportunities to lead projects and initiatives, empowering you to shape the future of pediatric transport care.

Scope of work

Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients during all phases of air and/or ground medical transport. Collaborates with other members of the health care team and uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat the patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. Assesses, monitors, detects, plans, and takes appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications associated with specific health problems and/or medical treatment.

Qualifications

  • Associates in Nursing Required

  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years

  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) License Required

  • Drivers License (MI or Other State) Required

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days

  • Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support (PFCCS) Required within 1 year

  • Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) Required within 180 days

  • Board Certified Critical Care Nurse (BC-CCRN) Required within 1 year

  • 2 years of Pediatric Critical Care and/or Emergency experience Required

  • Flight/transport nursing experience Preferred
