Monday & Tuesday, 8a-4:30p PST. Thursday, 10a-2p PST. NO WEEKENDS. Assign and sequence diagnostic and procedure codes for all service types in accordance with hospital approved and third party official coding guidelines. Abstract data and codes into the clinical database system in accordance with department procedures. Provide feedback to departments regarding appropriate documentation. Maintain knowledge of current regulations with regard to coding practices. Communicate with physicians, nursing, Patient Accounting and ancillary departments regarding documentation requirements. Participate in meetings related to maintaining appropriate coding, documentation and billing standards. Actively participate in ensuring compliance with coding and reporting requirements and receipt of entitled reimbursement. Participates in the Clinical Documentation Integrity Program.
