Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will engage in group, marital, family and group therapies using evidence based psychological techniques acceptable by current standards. You will assess individuals, couples and families, as well as determines diagnosis and treatment plans. You will provide marital, individual, and group counseling services to adults and children who are experiencing difficulties related to abuse. You will present factual information to the Family Advocacy Incident Determination Committee (IDC) concerning assigned cases. You will exercise own judgment in conducting initial interview to determine referral of clients, military treatment for rehabilitation center, civilian treatment, or rehabilitation program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conduct therapy and counseling services specifically with marital or non-marital couple and families using established psychological principles and research; complete psychosocial evaluations and risk assessments to determine diagnosis and treatment plans; develop programs which promote healthy relationships within a healthy family dynamic, and collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop and implement treatment and intervention programs. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This position is a TIER TWO clinical care practitioner. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8: 1. Possess at least a masters or doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines: a. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree, OR b. Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree, OR c. Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR d. Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a one-year APA accredited clinical internship 2. State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner in the fields of Licensed Professional Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology. 3. When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates for privileging, must have achieved a passing score on that examination. 4. Must have engaged in two years, full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience. You must provide the supporting documents (e.g. certification, license, transcripts) with the resume at time of application. Failure to provide will result in an ineligible rating. You must possess a current, active, and unrestricted license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Counselor, or Professional Counselor in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You must possess a current, active, and unrestricted license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You must possess a current, active, and unrestricted license or certification as an Alcoholism and/or Drug Abuse Counselor II in a State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Education Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Basic Requirements for Social Worker (0185): Must have successfully completed a degree in Social Work that fulfills all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. OR, Must have successfully completed a master's degree in Social Work with practicum. Additional Information The incumbent of this position is or may be assigned duties involving solitary contact with unmarried individuals below the age of 18. In accordance with OPNAVINST 5510.1H, and Public Law 101-647, Section 231, the incumbent must be able to successfully complete a seven year scope CNACI, a FBI Fingerprint check and a State Criminal History Repository Check (SCHRC} of all states of residence during the seven year period listed on employment forms. Incumbent must certify that employment application/investigative form, under penalty of perjury, are accurate and complete. Reinvestigation will be completed every 5 years.
