University of Virginia Clinical Social Worker - LCSW, Transplant & Addiction Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia

The incumbent provides clinical services to adults 18 years of age and older. Treatment modalities include individualized, patient centered assessment and treatment including cognitive behavioral and other substance use disorder focused psychotherapies, reflecting a variety of treatment approaches, provided to the patient on an individual, group and or family basis.

  • Provides clinical assessment and treatment to transplant candidates. Treatment modalities include evidence-based substance use disorder focused psychotherapies, reflecting a variety of treatment approaches, provided to the patient on an individual basis.

  • Participate in care coordination by developing and monitoring individualized and personalized treatment plans.

  • Collaborative work with the Transplant Team and Addiction Medicine Team.

  • Referral to community resources as needed and coordination of care within the community.

  • Maintains clinical records, referral databases to facilitate referrals and respond to social service’s needs.

  • Participate in training and guidance as appropriate to residents in the clinic.

  • Participates in clinical meetings to discuss cases, referrals and other administrative issues related to clinic operations.

  • Completes other assignments as requested by supervisor.

  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $54,558.40 - $87,297.60 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited social work program required

Experience: Three (3) years’ experience working with individuals with substance use issues, using a variety of diagnostic tools and techniques.

Knowledge of the development and maintenance of information/referral systems.

Skills: Basic knowledge of and experience utilizing a personal computer. Basic word processing skills required.

Licensure: Licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia (LCSW) or applicants with an active license from another state must obtain Virginia LCSW within 18 months of hire date.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, standing/traveling or use of assistive and climbing (stairs, steps). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail, hear, speak, see, distinguish colors, read, ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

Additionally, this position supports a busy clinical environment. The incumbent will be working in an office and patient examination/discussion room with minimal risk of exposure. Some interactions in community resource settings, and in the medical center. Occasional stress in balancing multiple demands and in dealing with patients/families experiencing tension.
