Amazon Principal Finance Manager, Delivery Experience - Speed in Bellevue, Washington

The Delivery Experience (DEX) Finance team seeks a Principal Finance Manager to provide finance leadership and support for the speed programs in the US.

In this role, you will be a core part of a small and fast-growing team that is in charge of evaluating the launch of delivery programs allowing customers to benefit from speed and convenience across Amazon’s selection. To build this rapidly growing business, the successful candidate must be passionate about enabling management to make breakthrough decisions through financial analyses, drive cash flow, and ultimately delight our customers. You must have solid financial knowledge and business acumen while thinking strategically and dealing with ambiguity, constantly looking for insights from the numbers and communicating findings in a clear and concise manner. This role requires extensive partnership with various business, operations, transportation, and finance teams to identify areas of opportunities and generate improvements in program economics. This team works hard, has a great deal of fun, and definitely makes history!

This is a perfect fit for someone who knows how to work fast and smart; who is comfortable with the ambiguity and complexity of optimizing for business metrics across multiple and sometimes conflicting dimensions; who knows the difference between one-way and a two-way door decisions; and who has strong backbone and makes their opinion known to leadership.

Key job responsibilities

  • Influence cross-functionally to make sound business decisions, analyze opportunities, identify issues, and solve challenges

  • Provide strategic guidance and tactical decision support in this rapidly evolving space

  • Understand key business drivers to constantly look for insights from the data and push for improvement in program economics

  • Communicate key inputs and findings in a crisp manner to drive decision-making

This is a very fast-paced and ambiguous environment of strategic importance and the team remains nimble to capture the opportunity. Bellevue, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)

  • 10+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 8+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes

  • 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 7+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience

  • Experience working cross-functionally with a wide breadth of stakeholders, users, engineers, and leaders to generate buy-in

  • Experience with SQL, Quicksight, Tableau, Python, Cognos or other BI packages

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $111,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
